Happy Vishu

Vishu (Malayalam:വിഷു) is a festival celebrated in the state of Kerala in South India. The same day is also celebrated as New year in several other parts of India such as Punjab (Baisakhi), Assam (Bihu), Tulu Nadu region in Karnataka where it is known as Bisu as well as in Tamil Nadu. The festival marks the first day of Malayalam Year and falls in the month of Medam (April – May). Vishu generally falls on April 14 of the Gregorian calendar. This occasion signifies the Sun's transit to the zodiac - Mesha Raasi (first zodiac sign) as per Indian astrological calculations and astronomically represents the vernal equinox. "Vishu" in Sanskrit means "equal". Therefore Vishu is more probably denoting one of the equinox days. Although Vishu (first of Medam) is the astrological new year day of Kerala, the official Malayalam new year falls on the first month of Chingam (August - September). However, 1st of Chingam has no significance either astrologically or astronomically. Chingam is the harvest season in Kerala and southern parts of coastal Karnataka.

Dam 999 in a soup

Back to Dam 999 main page

Dam 999 seems to be followed by trouble. The film, directed by an NRI director, has been having issues for a while now.
Malayalam actor Thilakan, who was supposed to be a part of Dam 999, was made to drop out of it due to his battle with AMMA. However the problem seemed solved when he was replaced by Rajat Kapoor and Thilakan was paid seven lakhs as compensation. Now, the film has hit a standstill again. Actress Tulip Joshi, who was to play the female lead in the movie, walked out of the sets due to some differences between her and the unit. When she decided to come back, members of the FEFKA refused to work with her.
Looks like Dam 999's problems are far from over, doesn't it?

DAM 999 an International Movie by the Mariners, directed by Sohan Roy, has started shooting at Alleppey. An emotional thriller, the film is based on the ancient concept of `navarasas’ or the nine human expressions, represented by an assortment of actors from India and Hollywood. Movie also portrays the concepts of Ayurveda as well as lost love in the backdrop of a sound story of a dilapidated colonial dam.

Director's Note

Dam 999 is an emotional thriller. It is inspired by many real life incidents. Through this film I want to convey the psychological stress every individual experiences by restricting one’s feelings and desires. One cannot go on for long without expressing one’s feelings. Like a pressure mounted DAM, concealed emotions will explode at some point of time. Words are not enough to convey the aftermaths of this outburst. The audience will relate to the symbolic representation of a DAM across everyone’s mind. In a very simple way,
Dam 999 is a story of nine characters and their emotions. The lives of all the nine characters revolve around the central edifice, the pressure mounted DAM.

Cast
Rajit Kapur - This acting maestro dons the role of Executive Engineer. The engineer is the personification of Navarasa as his character assumes the shades of each rasa.
Ashish Vidyarthi - The national award winning actor Ashish Vidyarthi plays Duari, the antagonist in the movie. Bheebatsa is the rasa of the foe, the rasa that symbolizes disgust and aversion.
Linda Arsenio - The audacious and heroic mood of Veera rasa is portrayed by the character Sandra, a clued-in TV journalist.
Joshua Fredric - He plays Captain Fredrick Brown, a tongue-in-cheek Anglo-Indian mariner, an epitome of Hasya, the rasa of mirth and fun.
Jaala Pickering - Jaala is Maria in DAM 999, Freddy's invalid sister who is confined to her home. A picture of Bhayanaka rasa, Maria characterizes fear, doom and despair.
Tulip Joshi - The sensuous and seductive Tulip Joshi is Raziya, Freddy's wife, in DAM999. The core of the character is Shringara rasa, the expression of romance and lust.
Vimala Raman - An actress, a model and a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, the charming Vimala Raman plays Meera, an archetype of the rasa of compassion, Karuna.

Kick-Ass Storyline

Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a typical teenage boy, wonders why no one has ever decided to become a real-life superhero like the heroes in the comic books. His friends at a comic book store told him that if anyone did become a superhero, they would get their ass kicked. Lizewski fails at his first attempt to fight crime, he is beaten, stabbed, and hit by a car. He convinces paramedics to say nothing of his costume and pretends he was brought in naked. In hospital for several weeks he is left with metal holding his bones together which he says looks like Wolverine. He has also suffered nerve damage which gives him an above average ability to take a beating. When he returns to school his longtime crush, Katie Deauxma, seems more interested in him. His friends explain she thinks he is gay and wants to take care of him. Lizewski goes along with this in an effort to spend time with her. Lizewski remains undeterred by his earlier setback, and ends up intervening in a gang fight outside a diner. Dressed in costume and using two modified night-sticks, he fights off three men. As the fight ends, a man who has been recording the event on his phone, asks Dave who he is, and he replies: "I'm Kick-Ass". The video is posted on the internet and soon becomes an internet phenomenon, making Kick-Ass a star overnight.
As Kick-Ass, Lizewski sets up a MySpace account, so people can contact him for help and is overwhelmed with responses. While spending time with Katie she admits she was being harassed by a lowlife drug dealer, and Lizewski convinces her to ask Kick-Ass for help. He investigates and ends up in an apartment full of violent lowlifes who try to kill him. He is rescued by a costumed, sword-wielding young girl named Hit-Girl, who kills all the attackers and then leaves to join her father, whose alias is Big Daddy. Hit-Girl jumps across the rooftops and tells Kick-Ass to follow her but he is afraid to jump, so they leave without him. Later Kick-Ass is visited at home by Hit-Girl and Big Daddy who have tracked him from his MySpace account. Hit-Girl and Big Daddy inform Kick-Ass that they can work together, and should he need help then he should set his MySpace status to "on vacation" and they will arrange a visit.
Meanwhile local crime syndicate leader Frank D'Amico (Mark Strong) hears of the deaths of many of his men, with many people believing that the new star, Kick-Ass, is responsible. In searching for Kick-Ass, D'Amico kills an impersonator who he believes is actually Kick-Ass. Running out of ideas, his son (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) offers a new idea. His idea involves him becoming the new superhero Red Mist, and enticing Kick-Ass into meeting him. At first, Red Mist attempts to lead Kick-Ass to a warehouse to be killed. They arrive at the warehouse to find it is on fire, and the men are dead. Red Mist retrieves secret surveillance footage and it is clear that Kick-Ass is not responsible for the attacks. Red Mist asks Kick-Ass to call upon the help of Hit-Girl and Big Daddy, and they arrange to meet at a safe house. Red Mist has led his father's gang right to them. As soon as they arrive, Hit-Girl is sitting on a window ledge and Red Mist shoots her, propelling her out of the window and on to the floor below. Kick-Ass and Big Daddy are captured and taken to a warehouse where the gangsters stage an internet broadcast where they intend to unmask and execute the heroes. Severely beaten and about to be set on fire, the lights are shot out and Hit-Girl starts a gun battle, killing off the villains, but a fire starts and Big Daddy is badly burnt. Before the battle concludes, he ends up dying of his injuries. Kick-Ass tries to convince Hit-Girl to quit but she is determined not to allow the death of her mother and father to be in vain and makes one last assault on the headquarters of Frank D'Amico.
Hit-Girl enters the building D'Amico is situated in and while posing as a lost schoolgirl, quickly disposes of the guards on the ground floor and moves to the elevator (where she suits up). Upon arrival, she quickly disposes of the majority of the guards, but runs out of ammunition and is forced to take cover in D'Amico's kitchen. Not willing to risk their lives with a direct confrontation with Hit-Girl, one of the henchmen grabs a bazooka stolen from Big Daddy's safe house earlier and prepares to fire, just as Kick-Ass shows up from outside the hotel with a jetpack with two Gatling guns, and opens fire on the henchmen (This is the first time Kick-Ass kills someone). After disposing of them, Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl move into D'Amico's office, and two separate fights ensue between Kick-Ass and Red Mist, and Hit-Girl and Frank D'Amico. While Kick-Ass and Red Mist fight until they knock each other out, Hit-Girl is overwhelmed by an older and stronger D'Amico. As D'Amico is about to shoot Hit-Girl, Kick-Ass appears with the bazooka from earlier and blasts D'Amico out the window, where he explodes in mid-air. Red Mist recovers and grabs his father's sword only to discover that Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl are already leaving. They tell each other their names and say goodbye.
Both Hit-Girl and Kick-Ass retire from crime fighting, with Hit-Girl living a normal life and attending the same school as Lizewski. Another wave of superheroes have been inspired by his exploits. Red Mist is shown donning a new mask and swearing vengeance, saying "Wait 'til they get a load of me".

Legion Movie Storyline

Legion Movie Storyline
The Archangel Michael (Bettany) falls to Earth in Los Angeles, cuts off his wings, and raids a police arsenal for a cache of automatic weapons. Confronted by two LAPD officers, one becomes possessed and kills the other. Michael kills the possessed cop and steals his car.
Most of the remainder of the story takes place in a small roadside diner and garage in the middle of the New Mexico desert. Its semi-permanent residents are the diner's owner, Bob Hanson (Quaid), his son Jeep (Black), the short-order cook Percy (Charles S. Dutton) and the waitress, Charlie (Palicki). Charlie is pregnant with an absentee father's child, and Jeep has always loved her, though he is afraid to say so. Also present are a single father on his way to L.A., Kyle (Tyrese Gibson), and an urban married couple, Howard and Sandra Anderson (Jon Tenney and Kate Walsh), and their rebellious teenage daughter, Audrey (Willa Holland), who have been temporarily stranded at the diner after their car has broken down.
Soon after, an old woman arrives and tells Charlie that her baby is going to burn. Enraged, Charlie leaves before the old woman taunts Howard and Sandra, thus setting Howard off into a rage but the old woman bites him in the neck. She climbs up the ceiling and knocks out Bob, though Kyle shoots her with his pistol that he was hiding. Later, they try to hurry Howard away via car though are forced to go back after passing through a fly swarm. When they return later Michael arrives.
God has lost faith in humankind so he sends down his angels to kill all of mankind. First an ice cream van arrives, with the driver being possessed. Then later a large convoy of cars with possessed passengers. They fight them all off though one of them drags Howard away. Later, Sandra finds Howard crucified upside down with many fatal boils, Sandra tries to save him but his boils pop resulting in his death, and the death of Percy, who grabs Sandra to save her. Afterwards, the Archangel Gabriel is sent down by God to kill the inhabitants of the diner, when the other angels fail, as Charlie's baby is deemed to be the saviour of mankind. When Gabriel reaches the diner, Michael gives Jeep the keys to the police cruiser he arrived in, urging them to take it to escape. Gabriel and Michael fight, and Gabriel wins, stabbing Michael through the chest with his mace.
Then he sees the dying Bob, who lights a flame to the diner's gas main, blowing up the diner and destroying the remaining possessed. However, Gabriel survives, and swoops down on the fleeing car. As he tries to reach Charlie, Jeep slams on the brakes, sending the car into a crash that pitches Gabriel out. Gabriel finally corners Jeep, Charlie and her baby in the mountains. He is about to kill them, when Michael appears, fully angelic again. His refusal to give up on mankind, including sacrificing his own life, has convinced God to change His mind and give humanity another chance. At this point, a surprised Gabriel is wounded when Michael runs him through with a blade. Gabriel flies off, leaving Michael and Jeep alone. After a brief conversation, Michael flies off, leaving Jeep to collect Charley and the baby and move on.
The film begins and ends with the same monologue by Charlie: telling how her mother's view of God changed while Charlie was a child, from a loving and merciful God to a stern and unforgiving one. When the young Charlie asked why He had changed, her mother said, "I don't know. Maybe He was just tired of all the bullshit."

SHREK FOREVER AFTER Storyline

Shrek (Mike Myers) has become a domesticated family man. Instead of scaring villagers away like he used to, the grown-reluctant ogre agrees to autograph pitch forks. Longing for the days when he felt like a "real ogre," Shrek is tricked into signing a pact with the smooth-talking dealmaker, Rumpelstiltskin (Walt Dohrn). Shrek suddenly finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumplestiltskin is king, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) is an intellectual, Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow) is still alive. Puss (Antonio Banderas) is fat and lazy and Fiona (Cameron Diaz) is a hunting ogreHe mostly discover that prince Charming ruled the kingdom of Far Far Away Now, it's up to Shrek to undo all of Rumpelstiltskin's mischief in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world, and reclaiming his One True Love and family.

MORE DETAILED STORY SOON

SHREK THE THIRD Storyline

King Harold (John Cleese) is dying and his ogre son-in-law Shrek (Mike Myers) and daughter Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) are next in line to be King and Queen of Far Far Away. Shrek insists that an ogre as king is a bad idea and that there has to be someone else for the job. Before dying, Harold tells Shrek that there is another heir: his nephew, Arthur Pendragon (Justin Timberlake). Shrek, Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) set out to retrieve Arthur. As they're sailing away, Fiona announces to Shrek that she is pregnant. Shrek begins having nightmares about his future children.
The trio journey to Worcestershire Academy, an elite boarding school, where they discover that Arthur ("Artie", as he prefers to be called) is a scrawny 16-year old underachiever picked on by everyone.
At the school pep rally Shrek tells Artie he's going to be king of Far Far Away. Artie is excited until Donkey and Puss inadvertently scare him by talking about the responsibilities of being king while they're sailing home. Panicked, Artie tries to take control of the ship and crashes it on an island where they meet Artie's retired wizard teacher, Merlin (Eric Idle).
Meanwhile, a vengeful Prince Charming (Rupert Everett) has gone to the Poison Apple tavern, where he encounters fairy tale villains including Captain Hook (Ian McShane), the Evil Queen (Susanne Blakeslee), a Cyclops (Mark Valley), Rumpelstiltskin (Conrad Vernon), Mabel the Ugly Stepsister (talk show host Regis Philbin), the Headless Horseman (Conrad Vernon), Stromboli the Puppet Master (Chris Miller), and an assortment of outlaws, black knights, pirates, malevolent trees, and witches. Although they initially despise Charming, he persuades them to fight for their "happily ever after".
Charming and the other villains invade the kingdom and attack the castle. They capture Gingerbread Man (Conrad Vernon), Pinocchio (Cody Cameron), The Big Bad Wolf (Aron Warner), and The Three Little Pigs (Cameron), Dragon, and Donkey and Dragon's children. Fiona and Lilian (Julie Andrews) try escaping along with Doris the Ugly Stepsister (Larry King), Cinderella (Amy Sedaris), Snow White (Amy Poehler), Sleeping Beauty (Cheri Oteri) and Rapunzel (Maya Rudolph); the ladies are captured when Rapunzel betrays them because she is in love with Charming.
Captain Hook and his pirates track Shrek and company to Merlin's island, where they attempt to capture Shrek and kill the others. Shrek and Artie send the villains running, but not before Hook mentions Charming and the takeover of Far Far Away. Concerned for his wife and future children, Shrek urges Artie to return to the safety of Worcestershire. However, Artie cons Merlin into coming out of retirement long enough to use his magic to send them all to Far Far Away; the spell works, but accidentally causes Puss and Donkey to switch bodies. They find Charming bent on revenge against Shrek for 'stealing' his "happily ever after," and learn that he plans to kill Shrek in a play that night. Charming's men arrive shortly, but Artie tricks the knights into not taking them into custody. They break into the castle during rehearsals for the play. In Charming's dressing room, Shrek menaces Charming but Charming summons his men, who take the four captive.
Charming prepares to kill Artie, believing he's the next king. To save Artie's life, Shrek tells Charming that Artie was just a pawn to take his place as King of Far Far Away. Charming believes Shrek and decides not to kill Artie, who runs away. Donkey and Puss are imprisoned with Fiona and the other ladies, where Fiona grows frustrated with their lack of initiative. Queen Lilian smashes the stone wall of the prison by head butting the walls. While the women launch a rescue mission for Shrek, Donkey and Puss free Gingy, Pinocchio, the wolf and pigs, Dragon, and the Dronkeys. They encounter Artie, and Puss and Donkey explain to him that Shrek lied so Charming wouldn't kill him.
Charming stages a musical theatrical performance in which he rides to rescue Rapunzel in a (fake) tower. The chained Shrek wins the audience's support by ridiculing Charming's acting. Just as Charming is about to kill Shrek, Princess Fiona and her friends, along with Puss, Donkey and the fairy tale characters confront the villains. However, the villains outnumber the heroes and regain control of the situation. Artie arrives and convinces the villains to turn over a new leaf.
Charming, furious at being thwarted, lunges for Artie with his sword. Shrek blocks the blow and Charming lunges at him. He informs Charming that he missed and that he needs to keep looking for his own happily ever after. As Shrek pushes Charming aside, Dragon knocks over Rapunzel's tower. Charming is killed when the tower lands him as he utters his last word (which is "Mommy"). With Charming dead, Shrek tells Artie that the throne is his if he wants it. Artie chooses to become king. While the kingdom celebrates, Merlin restores Puss and Donkey to their proper bodies, accidentally switching their tails. Shrek retires with Fiona to their swamp, becoming the parents of ogre triplets.

SHREK 2 Storyline

When Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) and Fiona (voiced by Cameron Diaz) come back from their honeymoon, they find an invitation to a royal ball with Fiona's parents to celebrate their marriage, an event Shrek is reluctant to participate in. Fiona talks him into it, and along with Donkey (voiced by Eddie Murphy), they travel to the kingdom of Far Far Away. They meet Fiona's parents, King Harold and Queen Lillian (voiced by John Cleese and Julie Andrews), who are surprised and repulsed by Fiona's choice of husband (particularly the King himself), since they had arranged that Prince Charming rescue her from the castle but now they see that her husband is an ogre.
At a shared meal, Shrek and Harold get into a heated argument over how Shrek and Fiona will raise their family, and Fiona, disgusted at Shrek and her father's behavior, locks herself away in her room that evening, where she meets her Fairy Godmother (voiced by Jennifer Saunders), who is also surprised at Fiona's new looks. Shrek worries that he has lost his true love, particularly after finding her childhood diary and reading that she was once infatuated with Prince Charming (voiced by Rupert Everett).
King Harold is accosted by the Fairy Godmother and Charming, her son. The two retell the Prince's adventures and how he overcame many obstacles and climbed a high tower in order to rescue Fiona, finding instead a cross-dressing wolf. They reprimand Harold for breaking an old promise that Charming would be able to marry Fiona and demand that he find a way to get rid of Shrek. While Shrek read Fiona's diary and find many words of "Mrs. Fiona Charming", Harold arranges for Shrek and Donkey to join him on a fictitious hunting trip, which really is a trap to lure the two into the hands of an assassin, Puss in Boots (voiced by Antonio Banderas).
When Fiona realizes that Shrek left, she asks her father for help, but he replies that he always wanted the best for her and that she should better think about what is the best for her, too. Puss is unable to defeat Shrek and, revealing that he was paid by Harold, asks to come along as a way to make amends. The three sneak into the Fairy Godmother's potion factory and steal a "Happily Ever After" potion that Shrek believes will restore Fiona's love for him.
Shrek and Donkey both drink the potion and fall into a deep sleep, awakening the next morning to discover its effects: Shrek is now a handsome human, while Donkey has turned into a stallion. In order to make the change permanent, Shrek must kiss Fiona by midnight. He, Donkey, and Puss return to the castle to discover that the potion has also transformed Fiona back into her former, human self. However, the Fairy Godmother, having learned of the potion's theft, intercepts Shrek and sends Charming to pose as him and win her love. At the Fairy Godmother's urging, Shrek leaves the castle, believing that the best way to make Fiona happy is to let her go.
To ensure that Fiona falls in love with Charming, the Fairy Godmother gives Harold a love potion to put into Fiona's tea. But Harold replies that it's not possible to make his daughter fall in love in this way. This exchange is overheard by Shrek, Donkey, and Puss, who are soon arrested by the royal guards and thrown into a dungeon. While the royal ball begins, several of Shrek's friends band together to free the trio and create a gigantic gingerbread man (whose name is Mongo), which breaks through the castle's defenses so Shrek can stop Charming from kissing Fiona, but Mongo is presumably killed when his arms break and he falls into the moat with Gingy devastated. Shrek finds he is too late to stop them; instead of falling in love with Charming, though, Fiona knocks him out with a headbutt. Harold reveals that he never gave Fiona the love potion, whereupon the Fairy Godmother attacks Shrek. In the ensuing melee, a spell from her wand, presumably to kill Shrek, rebounds off Harold's armor, when he commits self-sacrifice to save Shrek, and disintegrates the Fairy Godmother; it also returns Harold to his true form, that of the Frog Prince. Lilian had been the princess who kissed him and turned him into a human.
As the clock strikes midnight, Shrek and Fiona let the potion's effects wear off and they revert to their ogre selves, while Donkey changes back as well. Harold gives his blessing to the marriage and apologizes for his earlier behavior; the party resumes and the credits begin as they sing "Livin' La Vida Loca". They are interrupted by a brief after-party scene in which the Dragon, who had romanced Donkey in the first film, arrives and reveals that they now have several dragon-donkey hybrid, or "Dronkey", babies.

SHREK Storyline

Shrek (Mike Myers), a green ogre that has always enjoyed living in peaceful solitude in his swamp, finds his life disrupted when numerous fairytale beings, including Pinocchio, the Three Little Pigs, and Donkey (Eddie Murphy), are forced into the swamp by order of Lord Farquaad (John Lithgow), who is obsessed by many things, including having a perfectly clean and normal realm and his short size.
Shrek decides to travel the country to see Farquaad to try to regain his privacy, with Donkey tagging along. Meanwhile, Farquaad tortures the Gingerbread Man into revealing the whereabouts of the remaining fairytale creatures until his guards rush in with an object Farquaad has been searching for: the Magic Mirror. The Mirror tells him that Farquaad technically isn't a king and doesn't become one until he marries a princess. The Mirror gives him three princesses to choose from including Cinderella, Snow White, and Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz). Farquaad chooses Fiona and silences the Mirror before he can mention "the little thing that happens at night". The two make it to Farquaad's palace in Duloc, where they find themselves in the midst of a tournament; the winner will have the "privilege" of attempting to rescue Fiona from a castle surrounded by lava and protected by a fire-breathing dragon so that Farquaad may marry her. Shrek and Donkey easily beat the other knights, and Farquaad agrees to remove the fairytale creatures from the swamp if Shrek goes on to rescue Fiona.
Shrek and Donkey travel to the castle and split up to find Fiona. Donkey encounters the dragon and sweet-talks the beast to save himself before discovering that the dragon is female. Dragon takes a liking to Donkey and carries him to her chambers. When Shrek finds Fiona, she is appalled at his lack of romanticism. As they are leaving, Shrek manages to save Donkey, caught in Dragon's tender love, and causing her to become irate, chasing Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey out of the castle. At first, Fiona is thrilled to be rescued but quickly becomes disappointed when she finds out that Shrek is an ogre. The three make their return journey to Farquaad's palace, with Shrek and Fiona finding they have more in common with each other along the way, and falling in love. However, at night, Fiona refuses to camp with them, taking shelter in a nearby cave until morning. Shrek and Donkey stay awake and watch the stars while Shrek informs Donkey that he plans to build a wall around his swamp when he returns. When Donkey persists as to why Shrek would do this, Shrek tells him that everyone judges him before they know him, therefore he is better off alone.
The next night, Fiona takes shelter in a nearby windmill. When Donkey hears strange noises coming from the windmill, he finds Fiona has turned into an ogress. Fiona explains she was cursed as a child and turns into an ogre every night, which is why she was locked away in the castle, and that only a kiss from her true love will return her to her proper form. Shrek, about to confess his feelings for Fiona, overhears part of their conversation, and misinterprets her disgust at her transformation into an "ugly beast" to be disgusted with him. Fiona makes Donkey promise not to tell Shrek about the spell, vowing to do it herself, but when the next morning comes, Shrek has brought Lord Farquaad to Fiona. The two return to the castle, while a hurt Shrek returns to the now-vacated swamp.
Shrek finds that despite his privacy, he is miserable and misses Fiona. Donkey shows up to tell him that Fiona will be getting married shortly, urging Shrek into action to gain Fiona's true love. They are able to travel to Duloc quickly thanks to Dragon, who had escaped her confines and followed Donkey. They interrupt the wedding before Farquaad can kiss Fiona, but not before the sun sets, which causes Fiona to turn into an ogress in front of everyone. While her transformation causes Shrek to fully understand what he overheard at the windmill. Farquaad, disgusted over the change, orders Shrek killed and Fiona imprisoned, but Dragon bursts in and devours Farquaad. Shrek and Fiona admit their love for each other and share a kiss; Fiona is bathed in light as her curse is broken, but is surprised to find that she has remained an ogress. Shrek calms her by assuring her that she is still beautiful. The two of them get married in the swamp and depart on their honeymoon while the rest celebrate by singing "I'm a Believer".

My Name Is Khan - Storyline

MY NAME IS KHAN
Rizwan Khan (Tanay Chheda) is a Muslim child who grew up with his brother Zakir and his mother (Zarina Wahab) in a middle class family in the Borivali section of Mumbai. Rizwan is different from the other children and no one, including his mother, can understand why. However, he has certain gifts, particularly a special ability to repair any machine that is broken. His difference leads to special tutoring from a reclusive scholar and extra attention from his mother. This attention, however, leads to a heightened level of jealousy from his brother Zakir, who eventually leaves his family for a life in the United States.
Despite this resentment, as an adult Zakir (Jimmy Shergill) sponsors Rizwan (Shah Rukh Khan) to come and live with him in San Francisco. It is at this time that Zakir's psychologist wife, Haseena diagnoses Rizwan as having Asperger's syndrome, a disorder which makes it difficult for people to interact socially. Rizwan also begins to work for Zakir as an herbal salesman and in the process he meets a Hindu woman, Mandira and her young son, Sameer or Sam (Yuvaan Makaar), from a previous marriage. Despite Zakir's hostility to the match, they marry and settle down in the fictional town of Banville, where both Mandira and Samir take Rizwan's last name as their own. They also live next door to the Garrick family. Sam is close with their young son, Reese (Kenton Duty and Michael Arnold) while Mark (Dominic Renda) is a journalist and Sarah (Katie A. Keane) is a friend of Mandira.
The Khans' perfect existence gets disrupted, however, after the September 11 attacks on the twin towers in New York City. Mark goes to cover the war in Afghanistan and dies there. At the same time, the Khan family begins to experience pst 9-11 prejudice in their community and Reese begins to turn against Sam as well. One afternoon, an argument between them turns into a racially motivated schoolyard fight between Sam and a number of older students. Reese tries to stop the fight but is held back and Sam is injured so badly that he dies. A shattered Mandira blames Rizvan for his death stating that Sam "died only because his name was Khan." She then tells Rizwan that she no longer wants him in her life. When he asks her what he has to do to be a part of her life, she tells him that he has to tell the people of the United States, and the President that his name is Khan and that is not a terrorist.
Rizvan thus sets out on a journey that takes him from one US state to another (including Georgia, where he is befriended by Mama Jenny) in order to first meet President George W. Bush and later Barack Obama. During this quest, he is detained and later freed from the San Francisco Airport. Later, in Los Angeles, he prays in a Mosque and overhears violent rhetoric from Faisal Rahman (Arif Zakaria). He reports this to the FBI but there is no response at that moment. Later, while waiting in a crowd to meet President Bush and repeating again and again, "my name is Khan and I am not a terrorist," Rizwan is arrested and placed in a prison by police who misinterpret his statement.
While in the prison he is tortured as a terrorist suspect and meets the psychiatrist Radha (Sheetal Menon) who believes he is innocent. He is later released after a media campaign by two Indian student reporters Raj (Arjun Mathur) and Komal (Sugandha Garg) and Bobby Ahuja (Parvin Dabas) prove his innocence by unearthing his attempts to inform the FBI about Faisal Rahman. After his release, he returns to hurricane-hit Georgia to help Mama Jenny and her son. His efforts attract media attention and numerous Muslims come to help as well. At the same time, Reese confesses to Mandira and reveals the identity of the boys who beat up Sam.
After they are brought to justice, she joins Rizwan in Georgia. At the moment she arrives, Rizwan is stabbed by a follower of Faisal Rahman and is rushed to the hospital. With Mandira's help, he survives and meets President-elect Barack Obama (Christopher B. Duncan) who tells him: "Your name is Khan and you are not a terrorist."

Introducing Google Buzz

Google Buzz

Source: Google Official Blog

We've blogged before about our thoughts on the social web, steps we've taken to add social features to our products, and efforts like OpenSocial that propose common tools for building social apps. With more and more communication happening online, the social web has exploded as the primary way to share interesting stuff, tell the world what you're up to in real-time and stay more connected to more people. In today's world of status messages, tweets and update streams, it's increasingly tough to sort through it all, much less engage in meaningful conversations.

Our belief is that organizing the social information on the web — finding relevance in the noise — has become a large-scale challenge, one that Google's experience in organizing information can help solve. We've recently launched innovations like real-time search and Social Search, and today we're taking another big step with the introduction of a new product, Google Buzz.

Google Buzz is a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting. It's built right into Gmail, so you don't have to peck out an entirely new set of friends from scratch — it just works. If you think about it, there's always been a big social network underlying Gmail. Buzz brings this network to the surface by automatically setting you up to follow the people you email and chat with the most. We focused on building an easy-to-use sharing experience that richly integrates photos, videos and links, and makes it easy to share publicly or privately (so you don't have to use different tools to share with different audiences). Plus, Buzz integrates tightly with your existing Gmail inbox, so you're sure to see the stuff that matters most as it happens in real time.

We're rolling out Buzz to all Gmail accounts over the next few days, so if you don't see it in your account yet, check back soon. We also plan to make Google Buzz available to businesses and schools using Google Apps, with added features for sharing within organizations.

On your phone, Google Buzz is much more than just a small screen version of the desktop experience. Mobile devices add an important component to sharing: location. Posts tagged with geographical information have an extra dimension of context — the answer to the question "where were you when you shared this?" can communicate so much. And when viewed in aggregate, the posts about a particular location can paint an extremely rich picture of that place. Check out the Mobile Blog for more info about all of the ways to use Buzz on your phone, from a new mobile web app to a Buzz layer in Google Maps for mobile.

We've relied on other services' openness in order to build Buzz (you can connect Flickr and Twitter from Buzz in Gmail), and Buzz itself is not designed to be a closed system. Our goal is to make Buzz a fully open and distributed platform for conversations. We're building on a suite of open protocols to create a complete read/write developer API, and we invite developers to join us on Google Code to see what is available today and to learn more about how to participate.

We really hope you enjoy the experiences we've built within Gmail and for mobile phones. If you want to learn more, visit buzz.google.com. We look forward to continuing to evolve and improve Google Buzz based on your feedback.

The Property of a Lady movie

The Property of a Lady movie
James Bond investigates a Secret Service employee, Maria Freudenstein, who is a double agent about to be paid by her Russian keepers by auctioning a clock crafted by Peter Carl Fabergé at Sotheby's in her name. The Russians have sent the Resident Director of the KGB in London to attend the auction and underbid for the item in order to push the price to the necessary value to pay for her services as a double agent. Bond attends the auction in hopes of spotting this man; after doing so the man is expelled from London as persona non grata. The core of this story - the auctioning of a Fabergé egg at Sotheby's to raise funds - was incorporated into the Octopussy film, with the story's title being uttered in dialogue by Bond. The plot element of a double agent within the Secret Service was later referenced with the character of Miranda Frost in Die Another Day (and Alec Trevelyan, Agent 006 of GoldenEye as well as M's traitorous bodyguard, Craig Mitchell, in 2008's Quantum of Solace). The fate of Maria would be revealed by Fleming in his final novel, The Man With the Golden Gun, even though at the time of the novel's publication, "Property of a Lady" had only received limited release in the Ivory Hammer publication.

The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn - Storyline

the secret of the unicorn movie
There is an amazing epidemic of wallet-snatchings around Brussels. Thomson and Thompson - who, during the course of the story, eventually lose their wallets by the dozens to the thief - look for the culprit at the Old Street Market where they meet Tintin. Tintin buys a boat model of an old ship for Captain Haddock, but, as he does, two men try to haggle it off him. The first is a Mr. Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine, and the second is later revealed to be named Barnaby. Sakharine calls on Tintin at his flat later, seeking to convince him -unsuccessfully- to sell his ship, but leaves his card. A little while later, the mainmast is broken by Snowy, and Tintin repairs it.
When the Captain visits Tintin, he sees the ship and reacts with astonishment. Haddock takes Tintin back to his apartment and shows him a portrait of one of his ancestors, Sir Francis Haddock, the captain of a 17th century naval vessel. In its background is the very same ship, called "the Unicorn" (a French ship in the original; in the English translation part of the fleet of Charles II of England, and a Union Flag has been inserted as the flag flown by the Unicorn). When Tintin and the Captain return to Tintin's flat, they find that the model boat has been stolen. Tintin visits Sakharine, accusing him of having stolen it. While he discovers an identical ship in Sakharine's collection, it is evidently a different one, for in this case, the mast has not been broken. The ship carries the letters "UNICORN" on the back as well. When Tintin returns home, he finds that his flat has been ransacked, and while cleaning up he finds a mysterious parchment. He realizes that it must have been hidden within the mainmast broken by Snowy, and subsequently rolled out onto the floor. He guesses that the parchement holds the clue to finding treasure and rushes back to the Captain's flat.
The Captain, meanwhile, has taken out some heirlooms that had belonged to his great ancestor: a cutlass, a hat, and a journal which tells of how in 1676 he defeated the pirates led by Red Rackham. Haddock eagerly reads it out aloud to Tintin, sometimes getting a bit carried away while describing the battle scenes. Tintin himself is so taken in by the story that he does not even bother to take off his raincoat.
The pirate Red Rackham had just stolen some diamonds from a Spanish naval vessel when he engaged Sir Francis Haddock in battle in the West Indies. Although the volleys fired by Sir Francis destroyed Rackham's much smaller ship, the pirates managed to overpower Sir Francis's sailors; all but Sir Francis were either killed or forced to walk the plank. Red Rackham's crew took over the Unicorn, stowing the jewels and treasure on board. While they drunkenly celebrated their victory, Sir Francis slipped out of his bonds, killed Red Rackham in hand-to-hand combat and escaped after igniting a long fuse in the munitions hold. As Sir Francis rowed to the safety of a nearby island, the Unicorn exploded, killing the rest of the pirates.
The boat model which was stolen is just one of three constructed by Sir Francis for his three sons. Each one holds a parchment which, when placed together, will give the treasure's location. Tintin and Haddock then visit Mr. Sakharine, hoping to examine the parchment in his model, but find him unconscious in his apartment and the parchment taken from the model. Sakharine's description of his attacker matches Barnaby. Later on, Barnaby himself approaches Tintin in the street and wishes to talk to him but before he can enter Tintin's flat building, he is suddenly shot from a speeding vehicle. He manages to warn Tintin that "they will kill [Tintin] too" but when Tintin asks who "they" are, Barnaby merely points at a couple of sparrows. Tintin is later kidnapped by the perpetrators of the shooting, the Bird brothers (hence the reason for Barnaby pointing at the sparrows), two unscrupulous antique dealers who believe that he possesses the parchments. They are behind the theft of Tintin's model, having discovered the third parchment and have figured out that they needed all three to decode the clue to the treasure's location.
After being kidnapped by the Bird brothers, Tintin later escapes from Marlinspike Hall, a country estate owned by the Bird brothers. Captain Haddock and Thompson and Thomson arrive to help their friend and they capture one Bird brother while the other, Max, escapes. As their prisoner confesses, Tintin requests their police comrades to put out a police bulletin, which ultimately enables them to capture the fugitive at the national border. The parchments themselves, however, were stolen by a kleptomaniac specializing in wallets (the same pickpocket pursued by Thomson and Thompson, who is eventually cornered with Tintin's help).
By the end of the story, Tintin and Haddock have the parchments, and discover where they will find the treasure, by combining the parchments to read. The sequel, Red Rackham's Treasure, continues the story.

13b - Storyline

Manohar, an upwardly mobile middle class Indian, moves into a new apartment - 13B on the 13th floor with his family fulfilling one of his life's biggest dreams. But the family is greeted by a series of small trivial incidents such as milk getting spoiled that could be regarded as inauspicious but are shrugged off by the excited Manohar. The lift in the apartment does not operate for Manohar.
The women in the family get hooked on to a new TV show "Sab Khairiyat" (All's Well). The show is about a family eerily similar to theirs who have also just moved into a new house just like they have. As the serial unfolds, Manohar notices that the incidents that happen in the serial are a reflection of what has happened to Manohar and his family. The serial mirrors Manohar's family life. For example, his sister graduating first-class, his wife getting pregnant and later an abortion. The rest of the family remains oblivious to the similarities and Manohar prefers it that way to avoid panic.
As Manohar fights the uneasy feeling in his mind, things start taking a turn for the worse in the serial. He is now terrified that the same would happen to his family as well. Manohar now wants to know who is behind the making of this serial and what their intentions are. As Manohar explores the mysterious happenings, he unravels a deep and unholy secret.
The house they live in was the house where the whole family of eight were murdered way back in 1977. It was the family of a TV News reader Chitra. On the day of Chitra's engagement an ardent fan(Shriram Shinde in 13B version) of Chitra wants to stop the engagement and he fails in doing so. Disheartened, he commits suicide. After that all members in that family was murdered with a hammer in a single day. The blame rests on the crazy brother in the family as he is seen with the hammer last. The police officer investigating the case also commits suicide by hanging himself in the same house.
Now Manohar and his friend who is a policeman are in the process of unraveling the mystery. Manohar researches the madman Senthil, who apparently goes crazy after seeing the TV show in an asylum. Manohar then meets Senthil who extends a hand for Manohar but drags him inside but his friend Shiva helps him from being dragged, they then met Chitra's former fiance Ramchandar who tries to plead for Senthil's innocence because he got covered in blood while he hugged the bodies, failed in the case.
After researching one night Manohar had a nightmare of the 13B murderer climbing the stairs to kill his family. When Manohar tried to climb the stairs, he always ended up in the 2nd floor and after a few moments he woke up. He then goes to the hall and witnesses the Climax of "Yavarum Nalam" when they were showing the murderer's identity, he sees two hammers, one pointed hammer and a blunt sledge-hammer, then showing Manohar's face as the killer.
Manohar has a fit of insanity and turns to Shiva and Dr. Balu for help. He asks Dr.Balu to send his family to New Delhi. When Dr. Balu leaves the house, Manohar tells Shiva to lock him inside a room. He reckoned that if he is outside he might cause harm to his family without knowing he is doing so. Shiva locks Manohar up, and Manohar sees a sledgehammer outside the house. Manohar remembers that they showed two different hammers and the murder weapon was a pointed hammer. He tells Shiva about his suspicion but Shiva refuses to open the door. Manohar then climbs over Dr.Balu's shelf but falls down, finding a newspaper that had an obituary of Shriram which was posted by Dr.Balu and realises that Shriram is Dr.Balu's brother. Manohar realized that Dr.Balu was the murderer who killed Chitra's family as to avenge his brother's death. He then goes to save his family. Dr.Balu had reached Manohar's house and handed them tickets. As Manohar's wife goes to inform the family, Dr.Balu takes a hammer from the bathroom and goes to the hall, he then 'sees' Chitra, who blames Dr.Balu for the murders of her family and condemns him for killing innocent people. Dr.Balu sees Manohar's family and starts hallucinating, picturing them as the former owners of 13B. He then proceeds to strike Manohar's brother but Manohar arrives just in time to save his family by killing Dr. Balu with the hammer.
The story ends with Manohar living a normal life and receiving a call from Dr. Balu while in the elevator, who says that while the 13B family haunts the T.V., he haunts Manohar's phone.

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - Storyline

The film opens in the year 2065, where a future Earth is infested by Phantoms, alien life forms who upon physical contact with human beings extract, consume and thus seemingly destroy their souls. The remaining humans live in "barrier cities" all over the world and are engaged in an ongoing struggle to free the planet. Two scientists, Aki Ross and her mentor, Dr. Sid, are searching for eight life forms which they believe possess spirits capable, when joined, of defeating the Phantoms. Meanwhile, a general named Hein is determined to use a powerful space cannon to destroy the Phantoms, though Aki and Sid believe the cannon may destroy the Earth.
Aki was infected by a Phantom during one of her experiments, but with the help of the first five spirits, she was able to contain the infection temporarily. Searching for the Sixth Spirit in the ruins of New York City, Aki is cornered by Phantoms, but is rescued by a team led by Gray Edwards who was once romantically involved with Aki.
When they return, Aki and Sid appear before a leadership council along with Gen. Hein where they debate the use of the space cannon. Aki wins more time but only by revealing that she has been infected, convincing Hein that she is being controlled by the Phantoms. He has three men placed with her as she and Gray's squad travel to find the Seventh Spirit. They succeed in finding it, but are attacked by Phantoms in the process and they realize that the Phantoms are attracted to Aki. Hein's men attempt to arrest Aki but in the ensuing struggle and attacks by phantoms, they are killed and their souls are destroyed. Meanwhile Aki's infection worsens and she falls unconscious.
Gray's squad takes Aki to Sid's lab where Sid helps Gray to join Aki's dream. In the dream, they witness a war on an alien planet. The war ends when terrible explosions rip the planet apart and Aki realizes that the Phantoms are the spirits of the dead aliens brought to Earth on a fragment of their planet. They awake as Sid uses the Seventh Spirit to bring the infection back under control.
Meanwhile, Hein uses the incident with the Seventh Spirit to gain access to Sid and Aki's personal possessions and sees the images of the aliens in Aki's dream recorder. With this evidence, he has Sid, Aki and Gray's squad arrested.
In an attempt to ensure that the council will give him clearance to fire the space cannon, Gen. Hein takes control of the barrier shielding the city from the Phantoms and lowers it until they start to enter. Though Hein intended that only a few of the Phantoms enter, his plan backfires, as the Phantoms use plasma conduits to invade the entire city.
With the city under an evacuation order, Sid, Aki and Gray's squad are released from detention. They attempt to flee the city but only Sid, Aki and Gray escape with their lives in Aki's spaceship. Sid scans for the Eighth Spirit and finds it at the crater where the fragment of the alien planet collided with the Earth. Meanwhile, Hein escapes as well and, guilt-ridden and suicidal, boards the space cannon where he finally receives authorization to fire it, lying to the surviving council members as to the reason the Phantoms were able to invade the city.
Sid lowers Aki and Gray into the crater in a shielded vehicle so they can locate the Eighth Spirit and combine it with the others. They are about to succeed when Hein fires the space cannon into the crater, not only causing the Phantoms to mutate and grow larger, but causing the Eighth Spirit to disappear.
Aki has another vision of the Phantom home planet where she receives the Eighth Spirit. When she wakes, she and Gray combine it with the other seven and use the shield on their vehicle as a projector for them. When a Phantom touches the shield, it begins a chain reaction which neutralizes all of the Phantoms.
Meanwhile, Hein disables the cannon's safety mechanism and fires it again, destroying the cannon and everyone aboard it. The beam hits the Earth's spirit, or Gaia, the existence of which was long a pet theory of Dr. Sid. Gaia is damaged and angered, just as the spirit of the alien planet was damaged and angered when that planet was destroyed.
Aki still has the eight spirits though and, with the vehicle destroyed, Gray sacrifices his own life and soul to transmit them directly to Gaia. Gaia is returned to normal as the destructive energy is beamed back into space. The movie ends with Aki being pulled from the crater holding Gray's body and looking into the newly liberated world.

Edge of Darkness - Storyline

Thomas Craven (Mel Gibson) is a single father and Boston detective who is happy that his 24-year-old daughter, Emma (Bojana Novakovic), has arrived for a visit. A nuclear engineer in training at military contractor Northmoore, the young woman seems to have something on her mind. When she ends up vomiting blood, Thomas knows something isn't right, but as they leave the house to rush to the doctor, a masked man on the street blows her back into the house with a deadly shotgun blast. Shocked, but unable to think of anyone who would want him dead, Thomas sets out to find who's responsible, much to the chagrin of the case's lead detective, Bill Whitehouse (Jay O. Sanders). Thomas begins with Emma's boyfriend, David Burnham (Shawn Roberts), who he's never met but seems quite paranoid about being observed by people who don't want him to talk. With that only raising his suspicion, Thomas digs deeper by going up higher, including meeting with Northmoore CEO Jack Bennett (Danny Huston) and eventually U.S. Senator Pine (Damian Young) who's benefitted from major contributions from that corporation.
As he starts to piece together a growing conspiracy, Thomas must not only contend with Bennett's goons who want him silenced, but also Darius Jedburgh (Ray Winstone). He's nebulous figured hired by the Feds to clean up the mess, but his allegiance is questionable at best. From that point on, Thomas takes the law into his own hands while determined to bring his daughter's killers to his own brand of justice.

The Book of Eli - StoryLine

Thirty-one years after an apocalyptic event, Eli (Denzel Washington) travels on foot toward the west coast of the United States. Along the way he demonstrates uncanny survival and fighting skills, hunting wildlife and swiftly defeating a group of highway bandits who tried to ambush him. Searching for a source of water he arrives in a ramshackle town which was built by and is overseen by Carnegie (Gary Oldman). Carnegie dreams of building more towns and hinges these hopes on finding a certain book. His henchmen scour the desolate landscape daily in search of it.
After shooing away a cat in Carnegie's bar, Eli is set upon by a gang of bikers; Eli kills them all. Realizing that Eli is a literate man like himself Carnegie asks Eli to stay, though it is made clear that the offer is non-negotiable. After Carnegie's blind wife Claudia (Jennifer Beals) gives Eli some food Carnegie asks Claudia's daughter Solara (Mila Kunis) to seduce Eli. Eli turns her down but before they eat he says a prayer. The following day Solara prays with her mother and Carnegie realizes that Eli has a copy of the Bible, the book he has been looking for, as all copies were destroyed after the apocalypse. Eli sneaks out of his room and goes to the store across the street where he asked the Engineer (Tom Waits) to recharge his portable battery. Carnegie attempts to stop Eli, having all his henchmen fire at him, but Eli avoids the gunfire and shoots most of Carnegie's henchmen, even grazing Carnegie's leg. After Eli leaves, Solara follows and tracks him down, hoping she can accompany him on his travels and escape the town. Eli agrees on condition that she take him to the town's water supply. After fulfilling her end of the bargain, Eli traps her there and continues on alone. Solara escapes and soon finds herself set upon by two men. As Solara grapples with the men, Eli suddenly appears and dispatches them with arrows. Eli and Solara continue on until they arrive at a strange house. They stop to investigate and quickly fall into a trap door. The residents Martha (Frances de la Tour) and George (Michael Gambon) appear and invite them in for tea. Eli surmises that they trap, kill, and then eat invaders but before Eli and Solara can leave they are found by Carnegie.
Eli, Solara, Martha, and George hole themselves up inside the house and George reveals a hidden stockpile of powerful weaponry. A shoot-out ensues, leading to the death of some of Carnegie's men as well as George and Martha. Eli and Solara are captured.Carnegie threatens to kill Solara, which brings Eli to hand the Bible over to Carnegie. Carnegie shoots him in the stomach and leaves. While in transit Solara escapes and drives back to help Eli. Carnegie returns to the town as he has the Bible and is low on fuel. Solara picks Eli up and they continue west until they reach the Golden Gate Bridge, then they row over to Alcatraz where they find a group of survivors dedicated to preserving pre-war knowledge. Eli tells the guard that he has a copy of the King James version of the Bible and they are allowed in. Inside they are introduced to Lombardi (Malcolm McDowell), who is the curator of a collection of things from before the apocalypse. Eli is revealed as blind and dictates the Bible from memory to Lombardi, before dying from his wounds. Carnegie has the Engineer open the Bible but is distraught to find that it is in Braille, and his wife refuses to read it to him. His leg has started to go septic and he will die without ever having read the Bible. Alcatraz prints copies of the Bible, and Solara takes Eli's weapons and heads back east to the town.
